Literary access should not depend on linguistic dominance.
SHABD India—Scholarly Humanities Alliance for Bhasha and Digitalisation in India—is a multilingual Digital Humanities initiative for underrepresented Indian literary traditions.
We work toward a future in which lesser-known and marginalised stories are not lost to time, and in which readers can encounter literature across languages without separating text from its history, makers, rights or community.
Mission
Preserve, translate, contextualise, narrate and circulate.
The archive combines reading access with scholarly metadata and public participation.
Position
Digital Humanities from multilingual India.
The project foregrounds language inequality, infrastructure and postcolonial knowledge rather than treating them as side issues.
Commitment
Credibility over inflated scale.
SHABD India publishes what is known, marks what is unresolved and lets real corpus growth tell the story.
